2025 Exam dates
Polish Certificate Exam is held 4 times a year on different levels of language proficiency.
Registration opens two months prior to the exam date and is open for one month.
Exam candidates have to register on our website.

Before the exam
On the day of the exam
Read the regulations.
Arrive for the exam at the time designated by Lang LTC in the email.
Arriving late will result in not being allowed to take the exam.
You must be present for all the modules that make up the exam.
Do not bring to the exam room:
- learning aids,
- electronic devices for transmitting, receiving or recording information: smartphones, smartwatches, etc. – you will deposit them with exam staff before the exam,
- food and drinks other than water.
Bring with you:
- passport,
- your own writing utensils – a black or blue non-abrasive pen,
- water.
Before the exam starts
The chairman of the examination committee will check your identity.
Prepare the document for which you registered.
Exam staff will collect all your electronic devices – you will receive them back after the exam.
During the exam
- examinees are not allowed to communicate with each other,
- members of the exam committee are not allowed to comment on the exam tasks or give explanations about the exam tasks,
- after the expiration of the time allowed for the written part of the exam, the chairman of the exam committee announces the end of the exam, and members of the exam committee collect the exam papers from the examinees.
If, during the exam, a member of the exam committee finds that the examinee uses electronic devices, learning aids, or communicates in an unauthorized manner with other examinees, or violates the accepted sanitary regime, the examinee shall immediately terminate the exam with a failing grade. The exam fee will not be refunded.
If you require an adaptation of the exam conditions or format due to special health needs, please inform the Lang LTC Examination Centre by email to egzaminy@lang.com.pl no later than 30 days before the exam date.
You mustdocument your reported requirements with the appropriate medical certificates with their translations into Polish by certified translators. You can email scans in PDF format.

About the exam
What is the exam format?
A2 Exam Format adults
The exam consists of 5 modules.
We aim to have the entire exam on one day.
The written part contains 4 modules and lasts up to 160 minutes.
The oral part contains 1 module and lasts up to 10 minutes.
B1 Exam Format adults
The exam consists of 5 modules.
We aim to have the entire exam on one day.
The written part contains 4 modules and lasts up to 190 minutes :
- Listening comprehension – 30 minutes, 4-5 tasks, max. 30 points
- Reading comprehension – 40 minutes, 4-5 tasks, max. 30 points
- Grammatical correctness – 45 minutes, 8 tasks, max. 30 points
- Writing – 75 minutes, 3 tasks, max. 30 points
The oral part contains 1 module and lasts up to 15 minutes:
- In the oral exam, you have to express yourself using a variety of material – texts and illustrations. In the exam, you draw one of three sets. There are 3 tasks in each set to inspire you to speak. You can obtain a max. 40 points.
B2 Exam Format adults
The exam consists of 5 modules.
We aim to have the entire exam on one day.
The written part contains 4 modules and lasts up to 250 minutes :
- Listening comprehension – 30 minutes, 5 tasks, max. 40 points
- Reading comprehension – 60 minutes, 5 tasks, max. 40 points
- Grammatical correctness – 60 minutes, 8-9 tasks, max. 40 points
- Writing – 90 minutes, 3 tasks, max. 40 points
The oral part contains 1 module and lasts up to 15 minutes:
- In the oral exam, you have to express yourself using a variety of material – texts and illustrations. In the exam, you draw one of three sets. There are 3 tasks in each set to inspire you to speak. You can obtain a max. 40 points.
C1 Exam Format adults
The exam consists of 5 modules.
We aim to have the entire exam on one day.
The written part contains 4 modules and lasts up to 250 minutes.
The oral part contains 1 module and lasts up to 20 minutes.
C2 Exam format adults
The exam consists of 5 modules.
We aim to have the entire exam on one day.
The written part contains 4 modules and lasts up to 290 minutes.
The oral part contains 1 module and lasts up to 30 minutes.
Who can take the
Polish Certificate Exam?
You can take the exam if you need to prove your knowledge of Polish and:
- you are at least 18 years old on the day of the exam,
- you are a foreigner.

What is the Certificate for?
Certificate is necessary for individuals who are not Polish citizens and wish to document their knowledge of the Polish language.
- to obtain Polish citizenship,
- to obtain a residence permit for a long-term resident,
- to apply for studies,
- for a CV or professional employment.
Citizenship
In order to obtain Polish citizenship or a long-term resident’s EU residence permit, the certificate must confirm language proficiency at a level of at least B1.
You can obtain more informations at your local Voivodeship Administration Office processing the applications for Polish citizenship (Immigration Office).
Studies
A Certificate at the B2 level is usually required to study in Polish.
A Certificate at B1
is required for arts and sports colleges.
Professional career
You may need the certificate for your career development at a higher level. A certificate is most often not formally required, but certainly information in your CV about having one can make it easier to find a good job in Poland.

Results
We do not provideinformation on exam results by telephone.
We will inform you of your exam results by e-mail only, to the e-mail address you provided during registration.
The exact date of publication of the results does not depend on the Lang LTC Examination Centre, but on the decision of the State Commission for the Certification of Proficiency in Polish as a Foreign Language.

Certificate
Certificates are usually available approximately 30 days after the announcement of the exam results. The exact date of their issue does not depend on the Lang LTC Examination Centre, but on the decision of the State Commission for the Certification of Proficiency in Polish as a Foreign Language.
Collection of certificates takes place on weekdays between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. at the offices of Lang LTC, Warsaw,

You can collect the certificate in person or through a person authorised by the examinee.

We deliver certificates only upon presentation of a valid ID.
Candidates will be informed of the date for certificate collection via email.
