B1 Preliminary (PET) is the second subsequent exam among Cambridge English Qualifications exams.
It is available in two versions: for children and adolescents – B1 Preliminary for Schools and B1 Preliminary for adults.
B1 Preliminary Certificate is a certificate of English proficiency at the B1 level according to the CEFR scale.

About B1 Preliminary for Schools / B1 Preliminary (PET) exam

• It is dedicated for candidates whose language level is at B1 according to the CEFR scale
• it tests language skills used in everyday situations; checks understanding of simple texts, the ability to write simple texts in English in the context of well-known subjects and the ability to make simple notes

B1 Preliminary (PET) exam format

Egzamin B1 Preliminary (PET) consists of the following components:

• Reading: 45 minutes
• Writing: 45 minutes
• Listening: 30 minutes
• Speaking: 14 minutes

B1 Preliminary (PET) exam is also available as B1 First for Schools, which covers topics adjusted to the interests of school students.
