    What is the UK\u2019s points-based immigration system?<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The UK\u2019s immigration system is based on a points-based model, which replaced the freedom of movement for EU citizens as of January 1, 2021. To qualify for a Skilled Worker visa, an applicant must earn 70 points. Of these, 10 points are awarded for proving English language skills at the B1 level, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
